Guidelines for Submitting to the Journal: 

The bi-annual journal features the works of women + non-binary creatives. Submissions can range from: poetry, art, short fiction, CNF, photography, comics and more. Once completed, we will get back to you in a timely manner regarding the acceptance and/or rejection of your submission(s). Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but notify us promptly if accepted elsewhere. Previously published works are not accepted (social media does not count as formal publication). Submissions are only open to U.S residents identifying as women and/or non-binary. All submissions disregarding these guidelines will be ignored.

Poetry -  Submit up to three poems, four pages max.

Prose/Fiction/CNF - Submit up to two works, single spaced, 3000 words max per piece.

Artwork- Submit up to three pieces. Keep quality in at least standard 300 DPI.

Currently, we are unable to pay upon publication, but we will provide a contributor rate to the journal, and provide
the publicity of having the journal carried in several local bookshops in the Portland, Oregon area. 

 

Guidelines for Submitting to CHUNK:

CHUNK is an Oregon centric B&W print publication focused on the vibrant local art scene. It is filled with flash fiction, book reviews, interviews with artists and writers, recipes, photography, movie reviews, art, and comics. To submit your work(s), please follow this link. Simultaneous submissions are not accepted. Previously published works are also not accepted. Upon submission, we will get back to you in a timely manner regarding the acceptance and/or rejection. You must be an Oregon State resident, of any gender or identity, to submit. All submissions disregarding these guidelines will be ignored.

Comics - B&W comics and four panels max

CNF + Flash/Short Fiction - 800 words max

Photography - B&W and in at least 300 DPI.

Book Reviews - 500 words max, must be an Oregon authored book

Interviews - Please reach out to us via email to confirm details before submission

Recipes - Must focus on local and seasonal ingredients, 400 words max (ingredients not included in word count).
